Batibot is the Philippines' premier educational television series for children in the early years of childhood.
A 30-minute show using the magazine format, BATIBOT has been recognized as a significant contribution to national early childhood care and development efforts since it first became every Filipino child's playmate in 1984.
Variety, humor, original Filipino music and stories, animation, black theater, muppets, short live action films and features are basic to BATIBOT's format.
It is based on an educational blueprint or curriculum which addresses all aspects of early childhood growth and development: the physical sef; moral and/or emotional self; social/cultural self; intellectual self; the physical environment (natural and man-made).
Batibot, from an old Tagalog word meaning "small but strong and robust," is the most popular and the longest running children's television program in the Philippines. It is the first all-Filipino, curriculum-based educational program for young children.
Batibot is produced by the Philippine Children's Television Foundation, Inc. (PCTVF) in cooperation with GMA Network Inc. It is aired Monday to Friday, on GMA 7 from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m.
