Not only does this mean that Bernard can get to school on time while those around him are held on "freeze frame", but he also finds that stopping time can be useful in all sorts of other ways.

In "Giving Time", the last episode of the 5-part series, Bernard's grandad comes to look after him while mom and dad go on a holiday. Grandad always has plenty of time for Bernard which means that Bernard hardly needs to use his watch during Grandad's stay. But there are a few occasions when it proves itself to be very useful indeed!

There is a department of secret investigations at Bizbirije which is directed by Clak, an awkward detective who solves cases thanks to his deductive (and not so deductive) mind, as well as the help of children, his neighbors, and… his mother.

Through its special prize UNESCO wishes to honor the best film convincingly creating an understanding of other cultures and motivating open encounters in a true sense of partnership. The film reaches the subjective in an excellent manner. It presents the despair of young Memo from Eastern Turkey when his father brings the family to Holland. All of a sudden, Memo's friends, the farm and his favorite sheep are far away. Instead he looks out of the window of his basement flat. He is simply speechless and decides not to talk anymore. But he still meets Jeroen, his Dutch classmate, and they become friends: slowly but surely, but more and more closely, opening up new horizons for one another.

The children's wishes to be further educated on land, and their persuasive power over their parents to allow this to happen, displays much of what UNICEF is promoting in advocacy for the Rights of Children.

Mette Weyde, Danish Sonar presenter, draws a portrait of Nageena to reveal her views on arranged marriage, religion, family life and different cultures.

(Every episode in the Sonar series is followed up by a POLAROID, a ring-in radio programme where young people discuss with the main characters of the TV programme - or with somebody of a total different opinion on the same subject).

Productions with limited resources are challenged by many obstacles to quality children's programme productions. "Sugarcane Workers" shows courage and risk taking. It brings a compelling and important story to the children and people of the Philippines with solid storytelling skills and competent journalism. It is a touching and poignant programme. It deserves the BMW Special Prize.

WISE UP begins with a report from Adam, concerned about the cost of buying fizzy drinks and his local cinema. They're charging double the price for the same volume of liquid that's available in local stores at half the price.

Keri tackles the new trend for virtual pets, arguing that they should be banned for young kids as they are addictive and disruptive and there's a report by 14 year old Louis on the image of bowling -- he interviews the secretary of Tooting Bowling Club in London and discovers to his amazement - the club has a policy of not allowing ethnic minorities to become members.
