PONG PAGONG'S HIDEOUT AND WATER, WATER EVERYWHERE

The mystery of Pong Pagong's "batis at kangkungan" will be unravelled and will bring children closer to the importance and wonders of water. A child-sized water wheel that demonstrates how water can produce energy, exhibits on water plants and animals including a marine aquarium, a water activity table where children can do experiments with water are among the features of Pong Pagong's hideout.

Of course, children will enjoy playing with Pong's own everday things and toys: his toiletries, his favorite playthings and books. Even the "graduates" of BATIBOT will enjoy exploring Pong's memorabilia.

KIKO MATSING'S JEEPNEY

Filipino children first met Kiko Matsing and his colorful jeepney in 1983. They will surely enjoy pretending to drive and ride a jeepney. But this one-of-a-kind jeepney will "transport" their young minds and hearts to the different parts of the Philippines so they can learn about the country and our people through revolving exhibits on the different regions. Kiko Matsing will introduce children to the excitement and the wealth of Filipino culture. Kiko's special space will feature a specially-designed map of the Philippines with games and devices through which children learn about the characteristics of the different regions: the people and their activities, products, food, dances, scenic spots and the dialects.

Kiko's special space provides a fun-filled way of learning Social Studies through games, songs and interesting visuals.

ANG PUGAD NI KOKO

Koko was inspired by Pag-Asa, the first Philippine eagle born and raised in captivity in Mindanao. His "nest" will be the children's own space for learning about the natural environment through a multimedia interactive exhibit on the environment. Videos and photos showing how children take care of the arth and a wish tree where children can hang their wishes for the environment are some of its features.

Koko's nest also offers a workshop space where children can try their own hands at environmentally-friendly arts and crafts and music-making that stimulates the sounds of nature.

KAPITAN BASA'S LIBRARY

He is the popular advocate for reading who receives questions from children all over the country. He welcomes children to a traditional library of books posters and other materials that bring the distant world closer to children. But there's more to Kapitan Basa's library - welcome to the '90's where computers and CD Rom's bring information to children in even more exciting and colorful ways.

Kapitan Basa's Library is also a special place for "writer's workshops" and story-telling activities so children will learn to love reading books!
